Laurence of Hydroworks came to check out our old water softener and spent some time explaining that a new installation was the sensible solution for us. He installed a temporary unit and returned as promised with our new unit at an agreed date, demonstrated it and how to work it, cleared any mess and packaging.

He took away our supply of salt pellets and left a copious supply of salt "bricks" to use in our new unit.

It has worked beautifully since installation, and we have a ten-year guarantee on it. We are well satisfied.

Highly recommend this company for installation of a water softener. We wanted a one-stop shop from a company with a good reputation and plenty of experience, and that is exactly what we got. From start to finish, we were in the best hands. The communication was faultless, and Lawrence and his team are such great guys.

First used Hydroworks in 2019 to fit a water softener in our home. Were really impressed with the quality of their work so didn’t hesitate when we moved to contact Laurence and the team again to get a new softener fitted (as we had sold the previous softener with the house).

Again the whole team were amazing – treating us as valued loyal customers and have delivered us with not only a softener but with the Quooker tap all in a very tight single cupboard. I felt included throughout the process and the fitter Jay went above and beyond to ensure that everything fitted and worked as we wanted.

When one of the supplied parts for the Quooker tap was faulty, the entire team, and especially Mitch in the office, took ownership of getting it resolved as quickly as possible, leasing directly with the suppliers to urgently get it fixed within the week.

The member of staff who fitted the water softener arrived at the time arranged and carried out the installation to a high standard. He kept me informed about how the work was going and answered any questions I had.

I've ordered salt blocks from Hydroworks a few times now. The prices are highly competitive but it's also the personal touch that provides satisfaction. They call you the day before delivery to let you know it will be coming the next day, then their own driver calls you a little before he arrives on the day. The drivers are always very nice and friendly too. I'll be talking to them about having my water softener moved from my current house to my new house when I move in a couple of months, as I feel like I can trust them to provide a high-quality service.

A first-class company, we've had our Minimax Inova softener for over a year now and it's been excellent.

Unusually it did start leaking, but one call and Laurence was at our home within 30 minutes and it was replaced later that day.

Hi, I have just had a new water softener installed as my new bathroom was suffering from hard water and needed to be rectified.

I contacted Hydroworks and explained my problem, Laurence and James visited me and explained what was what, I decided to go ahead and even added a Quooker.

The installation was fraught with its issues far more than anticipated on the original visit, but the guys dealt with all issues even went the extra mile by running an existing cable through. I am totally satisfied with Hydroworks from start to finish, they exceeded my expectations and my shower runs perfect after just 4 days

I have been a customer of Hydroworks for a number of years. On the 19th July, my 3-year-old machine was removed and installed in my son's flat along with a new water filter.

Paul from Hydroworks came to our property yesterday to deliver 250kg of salt to our basement for our softener system (not a small task).

While he was there he kindly also checked our system by performing a diagnostic test, confirming that the system was still working well.

Hydroworks did a good job of selling and installing a Harvey's water softener for us, and we are pleased with the outcome. I would have given 5 stars, but for one irritating issue, where the outside wall was drilled from the inside for the softener overflow pipe, quite a large piece of the face of a brick in the outside wall was knocked off, leaving an untidy appearance. If the outside wall could have been drilled from the outside, this might not have happened.

In response: When we get things wrong, every effort is made to correct things and then ensure the customer is delighted. In this case, once we learned of the problem and contacted the customer, we were informed they had solved the problem themselves and didn't feel they needed us to replace the broken brick. We have since received an email from this customer, which we felt would be helpful to other customers considering a water softener.

Our water softener was installed on May 4th this year, and we started to notice the difference about four days later. I installed new salt blocks on June 19th (after 46 days) when the level of the old blocks reached the red line and again today 29/8 (70 days) so it seems that your estimate of having to replace the salt blocks every two months was about right. The things that we notice now are:

1. The chrome taps and other fittings in the bathrooms remain shiny.

2. My shaving water has foam on the top, not scum so has the water in the shower tray.

3. Eczema on my back is so much better that only rarely do I need to apply any cream to stop the itching. This was a complete surprise. However, I do notice when I shower at the sports centre that my back is slightly itchy again.

4. There is no buildup of slimy residue in the washing machine.

This is a great small business and a pleasure to deal with. I had a good quality water filter fitted a year ago, as I was concerned about the quality of my drinking water.

Lawrence looked at a number of options and he certainly knows what he is talking about. I followed his advice and have not looked back. He came round today to change the filter and delivery more salt replacements for my softener. I just wish I had used this company to install my water softener! Happy with plan, price, and installation as agreed. Slight hiccup: a small leak was detected later that day, but the engineer returned at 10 pm to remedy it. The original installation was to include a blank cap to cover a surplus hole in the work surface, but the engineer suggested we could fill the hole with a soap dispenser and return at a later date to install this at no extra cost. Superb service.

After many years of suffering from eczema, we decided to invest in a water softener after this was recommended to us by a friend who said this could improve my skin condition. We called Hydroworks and Laurence came to our home and did a comprehensive demonstration and showed us the difference between hard and soft water. We were really happy with his personalised approach and therefore we decided to go with Hydroworks to complete the installation. The installation was completed professionally and without any disruption. It took a few weeks for me to notice a difference in the feel of the water but I guess this was due to the limescale flushing through and out of the system.

After about three weeks the difference was clearly noticeable and having a bath made the water feel silky and smooth. After about six weeks I started to notice an improvement in my skin and my eczema started to clear up. Due to the difference in now having soft water I am not able to manage my eczema through only having to use moisturisers which means I am no longer reliant on potent steroid creams and I never thought this could be possible! Whenever we stay away at hotels I immediately feel the difference in the water quality and the adverse effect this has on my skin. I would defiantly recommend a water softener to other people with skin complaints and I cannot recommend Hydroworks enough due to the personal service which we received from Laurence and his team. Thank you for making such a difference to me and for helping to improve my skin condition!

Most people are unaware of the benefits of water treatment. After 30 years my first water softener needed to be replaced so I looked at the market on the Net. And found Hydroworks who came and did a complete survey. As a result, after further discussion on which was the best course of action I had installed a new water softener by them. Since then it has worked perfectly much better than the original. Subsequently, I have received salt purchases that have arrived on time and at a reasonable cost. The professional conduct and follow-up from the whole team have been first-class.

We shopped around extensively before settling on Hydroworks for our installation. Upon meeting Laurence, the level of technical expertise and knowledge was clear, and the pricing was more than competitive.

The installation was a really tough job at the site, and the plumber spent nearly 12 hours and didn’t leave until the system was sorted.

What I would say is that the whole Hydroworks team, from Laurence, the office guys and fitters, gives you a bit extra from competitors.

His knowledge of water softeners and how they perform has enabled me to provide the right water softener for my customers. Their customer service via email and on the phone is brilliant, keeping me up to date with deliveries.

Not normal for me to award someone 5* but this company were more than polite though reasonable price, more than efficient, even helped me secure a part of the newly installed C Heating tank that had fallen out of place, thankfully their engineer saw it. People like this deserve to succeed.

Laurence and the team are very knowledgeable and found the faults with my previous machine quickly and efficiently. He provided lots of information on solutions and left us with a test machine whilst we worked out what to do. We chose a new machine in the end rather than getting the old one fixed. Not the cheapest quote for a water softener, but I have absolutely no regrets about choosing Hydroworks over their opposition. The service was superb, both before the work, during it, and, most importantly, afterwards. I realised I had made a mistake in how I had asked for the softener to be fitted, and when they learned of this during their follow-up visit, they promised to change the installation to correct my mistake – but did not charge me a penny!

I've used ER Longley/Hydroworks for years and have always been very pleased with the excellent, reliable and trustworthy service. Since the business has changed hands, the excellent service has continued and I would gladly recommend them.

Following the original installation of a water softener, they have continued to supply me with salt blocks when required, annual water quality checks and a recent water softener service.
