We purvey the three only recommended types of water softener salt, and our three types are manufactured from pure Grade A PDV quality.
The purity of your water softener salt is critical to preventing damage to your softener and reducing product life. As the salt market in the UK grows, we are seeing more Turkish and Egyptian sea & lake salt entering the UK market. While it’s not been sold any cheaper, it brings with it fine sand sediment, which can scratch the valve of a water softener. It also brings a seafoam which can gradually be sucked into the softener cylinders and make flushing the mains water chalk out of the cylinders less effective. The last problem it can bring is impurities which can leave an oily residue in cabinets, and inevitably in the internal workings of a softener. All of these subsequently invalidate most manufacturer guarantees. If you would like to read more about this need-to-know topic, visit Which salt is best for my water softener?
If you have previously been buying granular salt, please instead order tablet salt as this is much better for your water softener as it creates less wear and tear on the valve, and subsequently less damage, and therefore your water softener should last longer.
When we deliver your salt to you, if you would like us to do a health check on your softener, we will be happy to do this for you free of charge. If my team identify anything that needs doing, I or my Lead Engineer, James, will be more than happy to pop out personally, also free of charge, to determine exactly what needs to be done and give you the best advice accordingly. This is a free service that has been used by many thousands of customers over the years and is very popular.
