Hi, I’m Gregor. At 56, I thought I was heading into retirement… but boredom had other plans! When Laurence kindly offered me a role driving him to appointments, it started off as a bit of a change of pace. But with 39 years of experience in sales and people development, it quickly became clear I had more to offer than just being behind the wheel.

These days, I do a bit of everything—mentoring team members, supporting Laurence in growing the business, and helping to bring out the best in everyone here at Hydroworks. I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned and being part of something with real heart, integrity, and ambition.

Why I Asked Gregor to Join Me – From Laurence

Bringing Gregor into the business as my driver might have seemed a little over-the-top at first—like I was getting too big for my boots. But it was actually a piece of advice I took to heart from Harvey Bowden, the Chairman of Harvey Water Softeners. He once told me that having a driver isn’t about luxury—it’s about efficiency.

When you’re spending three to five hours a day behind the wheel, that’s three to five hours you’re not using to build, lead, or grow your business. Since Gregor came on board, I’ve gained back that time—and I’m using it to move Hydroworks forward faster and smarter than ever.

But more than just giving me time, Gregor’s brought wisdom. With nearly four decades of experience in sales and people development, our conversations have sparked fresh thinking and opened up new ideas for growth. He’s not just the one doing the driving—he’s become an important sounding board and a big part of the momentum we’re building here.
