Up-Flow Design for Exceptionally Soft Water
Most water softeners use a down-flow design, where hard water travels down through the resin and exits via a narrow riser tube in the middle of the tank. While that works well under normal flow conditions, it can cause problems when water use is low - like with a dripping ball valve or a trickle from a tap.
This kind of trickle flow can create an uneven exchange, resulting in a blend of hard and soft water that leads to cosmetic signs like staining on shower screens or sanitaryware.
The Minimax range takes a different approach.
Instead of using a riser tube, the Minimax softener features fine mesh screens at the top and bottom of the tank - allowing for a wider, more even water spread across the resin.
Then comes the real magic:
Minimax pushes water up through the resin, not down. This up-flow movement gently lifts and stirs the resin beads, allowing for a full 100% exchange of hardness. The result is a higher-quality softness that’s noticeably different, even to the touch.
It’s a detail most softeners don’t advertise - because they don’t have it. But once you’ve experienced it? You’ll never go back.
